A hand up, not a hand out
The RTC (Reverse the Curse) approach is to provide counselling, training, skills and employment for landmine survivors. In providing these resources we are giving landmine survivors a hand up, so they can hold their head high as they provide for themselves and their families.
RTC is seeking to raise the necessary funding to build a new factory that will provide employment for many landmine survivors. Our current facility is no longer big enough. Among other benefits, the new building will be single-story, vastly improving disabled access. In the meantime, donations towards salaries, equipment, day-to-day running costs etc. will be greatly appreciated.
After the October 2011 floods, our main priority in fundraising is for a flood-proof fence around the farm. God generously provided $20,000 towards this project while Marion was recently in Australia. However, a final $5,500 is urgently required before April 2012 as Cambodian Harvest has stepped out in faith and begun the building process already. Unseasonal rains threaten to put an already-swollen river system under pressure for more flooding in 2012 - potentially worse than last year.
